Wenzel Jamnitzer animation II

Somehow, the 16th century polyhedra from Wenzel Jamnitzer are fun to draw in SketchUp.

Animation of a geometrical fantasy designed by
Wenzel Jamnitzer (1508-1585). Adding just an extra touch of absurdity…

The original engraving is part of the book
Perspectiva Corporum Regularium (1568). The book is arranged in six chapters. The first five show the influence of Plato’s Timaeus and the correspondence of the platonic solids with the elements fire, earth, air and water.
The final chapter deals with what could be best described as
 polyhedral monuments or geometrical fantasies.
